Kumar Group Featured On The Cover Of "Nature Materials"

The Kumar Group's research on nanoparticles has been featured on the cover of the April 2009 issue of Nature Materials. Nature Materials is a nationally distributed journal that focuses on bringing together cutting-edge research throughout the vast fields of materials science and engineering. The Kumar Group's research, which draws inspiration from surfactants, provides a new paradigm for spatially organizing nanoparticles into a variety of superstructures. This research addresses an open question in this field, and suggests that macroscale superstructures can be conducted from the bottom-up. This could have potential applications in a range of contexts, e.g., polymer nanocomposites, biomimetic materials, optical materials and fuel cells.
