Process Design Engineer
Lummus Process Technology is interviewing prospective
chemical engineering graduates to work in our Bloomfield, New Jersey
office. The position specifications
include the preparation of basic process designs of facilities and proposals
for the chemical, petrochemical and refining industries; developing and
evaluating new process technologies; development of computer-based design tools
and programs; participation in plant start-up and operations; and development
of environmental control/safety systems.
Initial work assignments are designed to immediately involve the engineer in a project team. The individual will be responsible for a portion of the project and will work with engineers of various disciplines to accomplish the design effort of the facility.
Activities:
Ø Process (flow scheme) development and material balances
Ø Plant optimization studies
Ø Development and utilization of computer simulation tools
Ø Process equipment design and specification
Ø Development of piping and instrument diagrams and control logic
Ø Environmental systems design
Ø Plant start-up and operations
Ø Continuing technical services to operating units
Qualifications:
Ø BSChE or MSChE
Ø Relevant course work in thermodynamics, mass transfer, process control, plant design and unit operations desirable
Ø Strong computer skills
Ø Co-op experience a plus
Ø GPA of 3.0 or above preferred
