About CSPA

CSPA Staff

The Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) is wholly owned by Columbia University in the City of New York and operated as an academic center through its Graduate School of Journalism. Founded in 1925, the Association serves as an international press association for student media in schools and colleges throughout the United States and Canada, as well as overseas schools following an American plan of education. In addition to the core staff at its New York headquarters, the Association enjoys the assistance of an active Board of Judges, composed of more than 300 working teachers and advisers to student media. Many of them also serve as speakers and presenters at the CSPA's annual conferences and workshops.

The Columbia Scholastic Press Advisers Association (CSPAA) is an autonomous affiliate of teachers and advisers, founded in 1927, to assist the CSPA in its work. The CSPAA elects its own officers, appoints its own committees, commissions its own reports and advocates for the needs of faculty advisers.
