For his long history of distinguished teaching for this association and for so many other student press and advisers’ groups; for his steely determination to always support the highest principals of journalistic inquiry and free expression by students in both schools and colleges; and for his intellectual ability to articulate why knowing the law and ethics surrounding the student press is so critical to the development of good citizens: the Columbia Scholastic Press Association is proud to honor Mark Goodman with its Charles R. O’Malley Award for Excellence in Teaching.
