2000 Scholastic Circle Recipients

Columbia Scholastic Press Association presents 2000 Scholastic Gold Circle Awards

NEW YORK, NY - The Columbia Scholastic Press Association's 17th Annual Gold Circle Awards program, the largest awards competition for individual achievement for student writers, editors, designers and photographers, attracted 9,793 entries from colleges, universities and senior high schools throughout the United States and awarded 1,070.

Awards lists were distributed at the Association's two March conventions-the 76th Annual Scholastic Convention for junior and senior high schools (March 15-17) and the 22nd Annual College Media Convention (March 15-18) both in New York City. The actual awards were made available to those winners present at the two conventions. Winning students not in attendance will receive their awards by mail beginning April 5.

Seventy-seven categories for individual and team entries were offered to recognizer individual excellence by student journalist working on newspapers, magazines and yearbooks.
