Equipment requirement: digital camera
Time commitment: All Day.

Amazing. Exciting. Enthralling. Are these words that describe your photographs? They could be if you learn to harness the power of light in your images, in the same way that master artists have learned to work with oil, watercolor or stone. In this seminar at this year’s conference you’ll join us for instruction on how to see light and have it make a difference in your photography. The group will go out and shoot photos, then return in the afternoon for critiques of your work.

Podcasting: The Basics
Delegates eligible:1 STUDENT PER SCHOOL
No equipment requirement
Time commitment: two hours in the morning

You’ll explore what a Podcast is, how to produce one using photos, audio and video, and how to post it to the web. You’ll also see examples of how to use sound and images to tell a compelling multimedia story. All software, hardware and other production needs will be outlined.

By the end of the class you’ll learn how to use sound and images to tell a compelling multimedia story.

Media Convergence
Delegates eligible:1 STUDENT & 1 ADVISER PER SCHOOL
No equipment requirement
Time commitment: two hours in the afternoon

Learn how to converge your publications/classes and deliver a story using the best medium available for the speed you want the story to get to your audience. You’ll learn how to format a story for the web, blogging, Podcasting, video, audio and print publications, and when is most appropriate to use all of the above.

You’ll leave with a better understanding of the seismic changes transforming how you report the news.

Learning Adobe InDesign and Photoshop

CSPA has partnered with Aquent Graphics Institute (AGI) to present two day-long technology sequences during the 2008 Fall Conference.

Two of AGI's Adobe-certified instructors will join CSPA's Conference program to present hourly sessions on two of Adobe's most popular CS3 software programs: Indesign and Photoshop.

As the day progresses, session topics will change and difficulty levels will increase. The morning sessions will cover the basics while the afternoon sessions will cover more advanced topics.

Space in each class is limited and there is no standing room allowed in the classrooms. Plan on getting to each class before it begins to ensure you get a seat. CSPA RedShirt staff members will ensure that seating capacities are respected during each hour.
