Biographical/Historical Note
Minor White (1908-1976) was an influential American photographer, writer and editor. He was a co-founder and the first editor
of Aperture magazine. He taught at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from the mid 1960s to 1974. White's photographs
are included in numerous collections, including New York's Museum of Modern Art, the George Eastman House in Rochester, and
the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The photographer's personal archive was bequeathed to the Princeton University Art
Museum upon his death in 1976.
