New Distinguished Faculty Teaching Award

This year at Class Day, three SEAS faculty will be awarded with the new Distinguished Faculty Teaching Award. The award recognizes faculty who have devoted themselves to excellence in undergraduate teaching. The idea originated by Greg Basso, Chairman of the SEAS Alumni Board of Managers.

The nomination process was open to all SEAS undergraduates via e-mail. Over 20 faculty members were nominated; Some received multiple nominations. The committee based the selection process on student critiques given at the end of each term.

The ad-hoc committee consisted of two SEAS alumni, Robert Hanson and Greg Basso, and 3 current students: Ziona Leibowitz, Ella Katz, and Alo Mukerji.

The award includes a citation and one thousand dollars, made possible by the SEAS Alumni Association.
