Biography
EDUCATION:
Ph.D. 2004, Cornell University
RESEARCH:
I joined Columbia University in January 2009 as an assistant professor.
My area of research is experimental condensed matter physics. I use
scanned probe microscopes (scanning tunneling and atomic force) to get
atomic-resolution structural and electronic information on quantum
materials. We do a significant amount of microscope building and
design, and collaborate with scientists both at Columbia and outside to
obtain samples that are of interest. Current projects include studies
of charge density wave materials, heavy fermions and graphene.
