Arrival

Open House attendees arrive at Columbia and pick up information packets at the Physics Department, 704 Pupin.

5:45 PM

Meet for Dinner

All Open House attendees are invited to attend a group dinner with current grad students - a chance to talk candidly about graduate student life at Columbia and in the Physics Department.

Meet outside of 705 Pupin Hall (remember: this is the 7th Floor) at 5:45 PM. Also recall that on Sunday you can only get to Pupin by entering at the main campus entrance on 116th Street (and Broadway or Amsterdam Ave). 

Your hosts will be current graduate students (Luke Goetzke, Runzhi Wang, Ryne Carbone and Michael Clark).

Restaurant: Havana Central located at 2911 Broadway between 113th & 114th St.

Campus Tour (Optional)

Regularly scheduled campus tour leaves daily at 1:00 PM from Columbia University Visitors Center, 213 Low Library Building. 

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Tours of Pupin Labs (Optional)

Visits to the AMO lab, condensed matter research lab and experimental astrophysics labs.

2:10 PM - 3:15 PM

Theory Seminar 2:10 PM in 831 Pupin

Visit Grad Student Housing (Optional)

Current grad student, Ryne Carbone will hold open house Monday afternoon from 3:00 to 4:00. Feel free to pay a visit on your own during these hours. All interested individuals should meet outside 704 Pupin at 2:50 pm.

Farewell Dinner with current graduate students and faculty at the Faculty House

This is an opportunity to chat with faculty and students in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Meet outside of 704 Pupin at 5:45 PM to meet with group. Graduate students,  Ryne Carbone, Zachary Greene, Laura Havener, Michael Clark, Michael McDonald, TingTing Wang and Runzhi Wang will escort the group to the dinner.
