Welcome to the Department of Radiology at Columbia University Medical Center .  We are proud to offer the highest quality medical imaging, research opportunities and Radiology educational experiences at one of the top 10 Hospitals in the country. 

The Department of Radiology currently provides clinical programs with subspecialty expertise at four geographic locations, including New York Presbyterian Hospital (NYP), Children’s Hospital of New York (CHONY), The Allen Pavilion annex of NYP, and at ColumbiaDoctors Eastside.  The full spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic radiology is offered throughout the enterprise, including the complete array of diagnostic radiology (CT, US, MRI, plain films), interventional radiology (body, vascular and neuro), and nuclear medicine (PET, PET/CT, CT/SPECT.  All services utilize the most advanced technology available to provide cutting edge radiologic service to our patients and our referring physicians. 

The Department stays at the forefront of advanced medical imaging by leading and participating in a broad range of research initiatives  through NIH funded grants.  Many of these projects are performed in dedicated state of the art Department of Radiology research facilities, including; the Morton A. Kreitchman PET Center, the David A. Gardner PET Research Center, a world class nuclear medicine facility that provides high quality positron emission tomography (PET) and PET/CT clinical and research facilities; the Magnetic Resonance Research Laboratories of Columbia University which boasts several high field research magnets; and the Cerebrovascular Center of the Neurological Institute.  The Department also has a strong collaborative relationship with Columbia University 's Department of Biomedical Engineering.

The Department has an extensive ACGME graduate training program in diagnostic radiology, neuroradiology, nuclear medicine/ radiology, pediatric radiology, neuroradiology and vascular-interventional radiology.  We also offer training fellowships in thoracic, abdominal musculo-skeletal, body MRI, and neuro-interventional radiology. The Department of Radiology at Columbia University Medical Center provides radiology education to an average of 39 residents and fellows each year.  The array of top, nationally recognized faculty, breadth of exams, research opportunities and advanced imaging technology, combined with the clinical services of one of the top hospitals in the United States makes the radiology educational experience at Columbia University among the most competitive in the country.
