Biography

Ross Ufberg's interests include translation, as practice. His translation from Polish of Marek Hlasko's Beautiful Twentysomethings is forthcoming from Northern Illinois University Press. With Yasha Klots, he translated Memoir of a Gulag Actress, by Tamara Petkevich (NIUP, 2010).

Another is Polish and Russian literature in the mid- to late-fifties, and early sixties. Young Prose in Russian, Angry Young Men in Britain, Brutal Prose in Poland, and James Dean and JD Salinger in the United States, all roughly attending the same high school prom.

Teaching Russian and Polish languages; writing fiction.
