The following are new features of the DRDA-AS support provided with DB2 UDB Extended Edition (EE) and DB2 UDB Extended - Enterprise Edition (EEE) database servers with Version 5.2:
DB2 UDB databases on Windows NT can now participate in two-phase commit transactions initiated by host and AS/400 applications. See DB2 Connect Enterprise Edition Quick Beginnings for further information on setting up two-phase commit. This support requires IBM eNetwork Communications Server for Windows NT Version 5.01 or higher.
Users of DB2 UDB servers can now designate host and AS/400 systems as trusted systems without extending the same treatment to less secure clients.
AUTHENTICATION DCS can now be used with DB2 UDB DRDA-AS to permit APPC connections from DRDA clients using security SAME (no password required), while at the same time enforcing SERVER authentication (which requires a password) for all other client requests.
