Quick Beginnings for DB2 Extended Enterprise Edition for UNIX


Step 1. Stop the Administration Server

You must stop the Administration Server before you remove DB2 products. To stop the Administration Server, you need to perform the following steps:

  1. Log in as root.

  2. Obtain the name of the Administration Server using the following command:
       DB2DIR/bin/dasilist
    


    where DB2DIR = /usr/lpp/db2_05_00 on AIX


    = /opt/IBMdb2/V5.0 on Solaris

  3. Stop the Administration Server.

    To stop the Administration Server, you must perform the following steps:

    1. Log in as the Administration Server owner.

    2. Run the start up script as follows:
         . INSTHOME/sqllib/db2profile    (for Bourne or Korn shell)
         source INSTHOME/sqllib/db2cshrc (for C shell)
      

      where INSTHOME is the home directory of the instance.

    3. Stop the Administration Server using the db2admin command as follows:
         db2admin stop
      


    where DB2DIR = /usr/lpp/db2_05_00 on AIX


    = /opt/IBMdb2/V5.0 on Solaris
