Instance Directory

The instance directory stores all information that pertains to a database instance. You cannot change the location of the instance directory once it is created. The directory contains:

In a partitioned database system, the instance directory is shared between all database partition servers belonging to the instance. Therefore, the instance directory must be created on a mounted file system that all machines in the instance can access.
