Physical and Diagnostic Evaluation
Physical findings:
Distension over hypogastrium
Dullness to percussion
Prostatic enlargement (more common in men)
Flank Tenderness
Loss of anal sphincter tone/wink
Diagnosis:
Placement catheter: record volume
PRV > 200 cc (< 50 normal)
USG: Hydronephrosis (may be normal if obstruction is < 24-48 hrs
CT Urogram: If renal colic or hematuria to rule-out renal lithiasis
