Using American Factfinder
1. Where are links to American Factfinder found on our web site?
2. Use American FactFinder to find the following for all block groups in tracts 280, 281, 283, 284, 285.01 and 285.02 in Queens:
- total population
- population by place of birth (foreign born vs. native born)
- number of responses for place of birth that were imputed
3. Download the results (use csv format) and then open it in Excel.
4. What would you have to do to get this information for all the block
groups in Queens?
Would you be able to get this data for country of birth for foreign born?
Using Census 2000 Allocate extraction software.
Find the guide for Allocate software on our website.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 from above using Allocate.
To the table you have created add totals for each of the five boroughs and for New York City.
