This menu item lists on-campus (or on-grounds) interviews by corporation, geographic region, and job function. However, it does not include the many thousands of job postings that Columbia Business School gets each year. We do post a limited number on the Career Services Home Page. Currently, the best place to access the comprehensive set of job postings, however, is the Career Resource Center located in Stairwell Y, Room 1M Uris. These postings are kept in binders. We are currently working on a method for listing these postings via the COIN system and we will keep you updated as this effort develops.

You must upload your resume onto the system. You may upload up to four versions of your resume, including the general resume you submitted for the Resume Book as well as specialized versions targeted at select types of recruiters. If you load your Resume Book version, we recommend that you load it as your "general resume." Once these are uploaded, you will be able to indicate to us during the "Confirm/Change" time period, which version should be included in the packet we give to recruiters on the morning of your interview. When you accept your scheduled interview time, youll simply indicate to us which resume we should use by clicking on the appropriate prompt. (Even though you submitted a general resume for the Resume Book, you must upload to COIN as well. If you keep different versions of your resume in the file drawer in Room 206 - which is where your extra Resume Book resumes are housed, please clearly mark them as to which industries they apply. We may need to pull one of these resumes to give to a recruiter and we don't want to select the wrong version!)

As noted, this is where some of the overall policies and procedures for On-Campus Recruiting are cited. Additionally, detailed handouts distributed at On-Campus Recruiting Meetings will contain other important information.

We will notify you when this area is ready to accept your information.

Corporate Information provides an overview of companies recruiting on campus, including company information, job opportunities and contacts. (See next section on Recruiter Database for other related sites.)

This is the list of all recruiting contacts. This area is discussed in the Recruiter Database section that follows.

This menu item was designed as an aid for mass mailings. However, beware that this list will not be automatically updated and changes to company contact information are not automatically reflected, hence we have included an upload date. To get the latest information, go to the "Schedule Summary" area in the "Interviews & Bidding" menu item.

RECRUITER DATABASE: On-Campus Dates, Job Descriptions, Contact Names

To determine with whom you want to interview on-campus, you will want to review the lists of companies that are recruiting at Columbia and the positions for which they are recruiting. Therefore, when first entering the system, we suggest you click on "Interviews & Bidding" in the Main Menu box.

Once you have clicked on "Interviews & Bidding, you can access the "Schedule Summary" report by selecting this menu item in the Main Menu box. This area will contain a list of all on campus recruiters by the date that they have reserved to interview. You will be prompted to type in a date range. Once you have done so, a list of companies will appear along with job title, schedule type (including a number, such as 30, signifying the length of the interview), and finally total number of slots allocated for bidding and for invites. You may choose to print this list for easy reference. It is important to note, though, that this schedule is updated on an ongoing basis and may change. Therefore, you will want to check it regularly.

You can access detailed job descriptions and contact names from the "Schedule Summary" by clicking on the job title An in-depth job description is contained on the link to the job abstract line if it says "More". Please note, not all companies send a detailed description in a timely fashion, therefore some descriptions may be missing.

To find the contact address simply click on "Send Resume To" in the Job Detail window for that company (see screen shot on previous page). Addresses at this location will sometimes reflect the region and country in the address. You will want to take care when sending letters domestically not to include the region and the country. If you have any confusion, go back to the Main Menu box and select "Contact Information" and then "Resume Contact List." There, a comprehensive list of all recruiters is included that separates out the region and country (see screen shots on next page). (Please note, a search performed using the "Resume Contact List" menu item will generate 325+ names, which comprise the entire list of contacts for companies that are recruiting on campus in Fall 2000. A search performed using the general "Contact Information" menu item will produce a list of 550+ names, which includes all companies for which we have contact information even if these organizations do not plan to recruit on campus this fall.)

We have also developed a mail merge for full time jobs and will develop one for internships. This resource can be found under the "Contact Information" menu item in the Main Menu box. The mail merge will likely be updated once during the on-campus recruiting season. Moreover, the updated version will not indicate which information has changed. Therefore, if some time has passed and you are concerned that contact names may have been changed, it would be wise to check the other menus (i.e. Schedule Summary) to confirm names.
