Reserving Dates On Campus

All on-campus interviews are arranged by the Office of MBA Career Services.

1. Upon receipt of the Recruiter's Guide, companies can begin to complete and return the forms for first- and/or second-year recruiting in the online version (www.columbia.edu/ cu/business/career/recruitersguide). All requests for interview dates should be submitted using the online versions of our forms. Faxed copies of Forms 4 and 5. in this book will only be accepted after May 14, 2002. If you are unable to access our forms online, please contact Amanda Siegelson in our office at (212) 854-3072.
2. On May 14, 2002, at 9 a.m. our office will do a randomized sorting of requests received. Each company will then be called to finalize schedules for all requests submitted prior to May 14. After that date, requests will be handled as forms are received.
3. If interview rooms are not available in our two classroom buildings on your preferred date, we will notify you. It may be possible for you to reserve rooms on campus at Faculty House (see Locations on Campus for more information on this location). You must pay for room rentals at Faculty House, so be sure to request written confirmation of room arrangements when booking. We will, of course, manage your interview schedules if you book a campus location outside our classroom buildings, but we must leave the daily on-site coordination of your schedule in your hands. Let us know what rooms you have reserved.

  Reserving Dates Off Campus

Upon receipt of the Recruiter's Guide, submit online requests to schedule any off-campus firstround interviews on Fridays or Saturdays when there are no classes. Return the online versions of Forms 4 and 5. We will contact you to confirm your requests.
The need to avoid conflicts between interviews and class attendance makes it imperative that all companies adhere strictly to the policy of first-round interview dates at locations off campus only on days when there are no classes. All such interviews must also be approved by our office.
We wish to remind you that second-round interviews may not be scheduled until the evening of October 18, 2002, the third day of full-time recruiting, and the evening of January 16, 2003, the third day of internship recruiting.

Selecting an Interview Date

During our peak season, for both second- and first-year interviews we will not book more than six schedules per firm per day for oncampus recruiting. In this way we can accommodate more firms during the first weeks of recruiting.

Second-Year On-campus recruiting for secondyear students begins on October 16, ends on December 5 and resumes in 2003. There is no official end to second-year recruiting.
First-Year First-year students may be interviewed on campus starting January 14, 2003. Additional dates can also be arranged after our formal recruiting cycles.

Companies choosing to interview students on Saturdays must be prepared to accommodate students who request an alternative date for religious reasons.
