1) JOIN COLUMBIA BIG BUDDY AND BE A MENTOR!

COLUMBIA BIG BUDDY is an opportunity for upperclassmen to share their experiences with the freshman class while going on FREE trips: Broadway shows, dinners, and other events. You can help first years become acclimated with Columbia life and New York City through individualized mentor pairings! It's lots of fun and a real help for first year students. There are already 50 students participating but our first event was so successful that we want to open the program to as many as people as possible.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED OR HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, EMAIL [email protected]

FOR MORE INFORMATION - our next event is this Saturday, 10/29!

3) President Bollinger’s Council!

This year, President Bollinger created the Council on Student Affairs. The council meets with the President and the Provost three times a year to bring important community matters and other issues of student concern directly to their attention. Also, the council is designed to supplement other interactions between the President, the Provost, and students throughout the year.  The CCSC was asked to nominate three CC students to President Bollinger and Provost Brinkley, who will then select the final member.

If you are interested in this incredible opportunity and feel up to the responsibility, I encourage you to apply for this position. You must complete the application and *e-mail your responses to [email protected]* * by Wednesday, Nov. 2nd.*

From these submissions, five finalists will be selected for interviews, and it will be narrowed down to three candidates. *Summary of dates* :

  - 11.02 (Wednesday) - Applications Due

  - 11.09 (Wednesday) - Announce 5 final candidates and hold interviews  to select final 3.
