Hey
Homies,
Class
t-shirts are in and they rock! Much thanks and
congratulation goes to our designer and my
homegirl, Stephanie Shieh. Scheduling
permitting, we will be offering the t-shirts
tomorrow for $5 a piece in the Lerner Box Office
between 1 and 3pm.
Also,
we have an awesome nutrition workshop coming up
tomorrow which I’m sure you have all seen fliers
for. It will feature a brief talk by a
nutritionist on how to stay healthy at Columbia
followed by a communal cooking lesson and free
dinner. Details are below. It will be at 6 pm in
the Lerner Kitchen (there will be signs). We
will also be offering t-shirts there for those
who are interested.
Also,
I am trying to collect reports about people’s
experiences with advising (pre-professional,
scholarship and fellowship, FYSAAC, major, etc.)
If you have had any comments, complaints or
experiences (good or bad) that you feel you
would like addressed, please send me a brief
write-up of them so that I can take your
concerns to administrators.
Finally, I am looking for suggestions as to what
people would like to see for Glass House Rocks
on the 2nd (i.e. main) floor of Lerner. Please
reply with any thoughts.
In
news of the future: we have a study break coming
back the Sunday after we come back (details to
follow next week). Neda Navab, the very awesome
VP of the class, is putting together an email
mailing list called Ned's dates enlightening
those who sign up of cool things to do around
the city. Information on how to sign up is below
(or visit
http://groups.google.com/group/Neds-Dates).
Anyways, Happy Turkey Day. In honor of the
holiday, I’m including the Bad Joke of the Week
up top for this weekend only. This one comes
straight out of the mouth of Columbia student
Nat Gale:
Q:
Why couldn’t the turkey eat any more on
Thanksgiving?
A:
Because he was stuffed.
Oh
well. He’s SEAS.
To
good travels, good eating and CC 2008,
Isaac
Silverman

this!
