Hi
all,
A belated Happy V-Day to all. I was glad to
see many of you at our Broken Hearts
Valentine’s Day event in Wallach.
For those of you who missed our V-day event,
however, don’t worry. We have a number of
other cool events coming up in the next week.
Worried about choosing your major? CC 2008 has
collaborated with a number of the departments
to bring you a series of discussions with
professors talking about what they find most
interesting in their field. Learn more below.
Also, we have a Stressbusters Study Break
coming up Sunday. Make sure you check it out
and get your free massage. Again, details
below.
Finally, thanks for everyone’s insight into
the Barnard Flash Access proposal last week.
I will bring your advocacy for and concerns
about the policy to council. I hope you will
continue to share any ideas about how the
Columbia experience can be made even better
with us.
This week, we would like to focus on alumni
programming. Any suggestions would be
appreciated.
I hope all is well. Due to popular request,
the bad joke is back. Feel free to send me
your own.
Best,
Isaac Silverman

1. [cc 2008] Talks with Professors in Your
Areas of Interest
As the major declaration deadline for CC
approaches (it’s right around the corner on
March 2nd), CCSC 2008 is organizing a series
of one-hour talks with professors in popular
majors for sophomores only. These talks won’t
focus on degree requirements, but rather on a
discussion of issues that the professors find
interesting in their field and where they
anticipate the field progressing in the next
decade or so. The idea behind these talks is
to give you an idea of what to expect from
your chosen major in the future as well as
the opportunity to ask questions to a
knowledgeable source. Space is limited, so if
you’re interested, please register by sending
an email indicating which talk you would like
to attend to

3. [cc2008 (kinda)] Bad a** joke of the week
You know you're old when you refer to your
waterbed as the dead sea.
