Hi all,

What’s happening? Led by the sophomores, Lions basketball kicked the  butts of the P’s. Let’s show up in force this weekend to cheer for  the light blue!

It’s quickly becoming midterm and major declaration season. If you  haven’t already, make sure that you declare your major soon @ http://
www.studentaffairs.columbia.edu/fysaac/majordec/. In the event that  you’re still undecided, visit one of the many exciting and excellent  professor talks run by the CC 2008 Academic Affairs committee.  Information about these is below.

Also, starting this weekend, Vice-President Neda Navab is putting  together weekly updates on the latest and greatest happenings around  the city. To get on the list and receive Ned's Dates, visit
http://groups.google.com/groups/Neds-Dates.

Sneak Preview of this weekend includes a dark, erotic, and irrational  exhibition, a diner with staff clad in pink "Who's your Daddy" t- shirts, and a backstage tour of the Metropolitan Opera House.

Anyways, I have a meeting in the near future with Larry Levitas  regarding restoring JJ’s Place to its pub past. My roommate Geoffrey  Aung (who’s single and attractive) is 21, so I know this applies to  at least a few of us.

That said, much love. Send me a bad joke if you have one.

Best and Happy Thursday,

Your Faithful President Isaac Silverman

1. [cc2008] Talks with Professors in Your Areas of Interest

As the major declaration deadline for CC approaches (it’s right  around the corner on March 2nd), CCSC 2008 is organizing a series of  one-hour talks with professors in popular majors for sophomores only.  These talks won’t focus on degree requirements, but rather on a  discussion of issues that the professors find interesting in their  field and where they anticipate the field progressing in the next  decade or so. The idea behind these talks is to give you an idea of  what to expect from your chosen major in the future as well as the  opportunity to ask questions to a knowledgeable source. Space is  limited, so if you’re interested, please register by sending an  email indicating which talk you would like to attend to
[email protected] . Refreshments will be served.
