Hi all!

I hope midterms aren't stressing y'all out too much.  (I find that drinking water and eating as much as possible definitely help counteract the lack of sleep!)  Even though there's a lot going on in the next few weeks, be sure to check out some of our awesome upcoming events.   Last Spring, [access] promised you more alumni events and here they come, including a FREE dinner and FREE Broadway theatre tickets. Also, our newest Urban '08 Event is here! A FREE tour of Radio City Music Hall!   We hope you enjoy them!  As always, please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your lives better!

Best,

Michelle

1. Dinner with Peter Kang CC'03, entrepreneur
Tuesday, October 24, 2006
7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at Sezz Medi

A new addition to our calendar this year is our Young Alumni-Student Dinner Series. A small group of students will enjoy an informal dinner with a recent grad at a restaurant in the neighborhood.  This is a great chance to talk with young alumni about life after Columbia and learn how they are putting that Columbia degree to work.

Dine with College alumnus Peter Kang '03 as he shares his experiences and knowledge surrounding his time at Columbia and his transition from an analyst at Lehman Brothers to entrepreneur. Peter founded and is a principal of Barrell LLC, "a creative partnership committed to helping organizations achieve growth through design." This innovative company makes brands, print graphics, and websites.

Space is limited to eight students.  To indicate interest in this event CLICK HERE

Thursday, October 26, 2006
Curtain:
8:00 PM, Broadway Theatre, 1681 Broadway

Students and CC Young Alumni will enjoy an evening of theatre together at this tony-nominated show featuring Brandon Dixon as Harpo.  The Color Purple received eleven Tony nominations last spring, one of which was for Brandon in the Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical category.   Brandon appeared as Simba in the national tour of The Lion King, but credits Columbia's 107th Annual Varsity Show as the place where he cut his teeth in theatre.

Space is limited to ten students.  To indicate interest in this event, please CLICK HERE.

Columbia College Class of 2008 students are invited to join Joe Klein CC '58 and Peter Gruenberger CC '58 for a tour of Radio City Music Hall.  This "insiders" tour is certain to be interesting, particularly given Joe's experience as a former Broadway conductor.   He continues to be connected to New York's thriving theatre and music scene.

Space is limited to seventeen students. Unfortunately, having your name drawn in this Urban '08 event only gives you one ticket, since it is in conjunction with the Office of Student and Alumni Programs. To indicate interest in this event, please CLICK HERE by Tuesday, October 24th at midnight.  Participants will be chosen by lottery from those who respond by this deadline and results will be posted the next day.  Transportation via subway and Radio City tour tickets courtesy of Student and Alumni Programs.
