Hey everyone,
Welcome back! The semester is off to a huge
start, and there are a few big items you
should know about, like... DAILY SHOW
TICKETS! Yes, that's right, your chance to
get up close and personal with Mr. Jon
Stewart. What could be better? See below for
more details.
Also, the new Pass/Fail Policy has finally
been approved. There was a glitch with the
approval last spring, but it is official
and ready to be implemented Fall '07.
I'm excited for a great semester! As
always, please email me with any
ideas/issues/concerns you have.
Enjoy the rest of the week!
(Happy Birthday, Minha!!)

The Columbia
University National Undergraduate Film
Festival (CUNUFF) is looking for
prospective volunteers and future leaders
for their organization!
Three years running, CUNUFF screens and
judges scores of short films by high
school and college students nationwide,
selecting the top ten finalists and
showcasing them on one evening in the
spring. Film industry professionals and
filmmakers from all over the country
attend the festival, as they watch their
peers' films and receive awards for their
work.
If you are interested in helping out with
Columbia University's first
and only national undergraduate film
festival, or if you are interested
in taking over future leadership positions
for this organization, please
contact Calvin Sun (CC '08) at:
[email protected]
or
[email protected]
More
information about the festival (videos,
pictures, past winners & films) can be
found on our website:

4. IT'S THANK-A-THON TIME
Tuesday, February 13th. Join
friends and classmates in 407 Lerner for a
few minutes between the hours of 6:00 PM
and 10:00 PM to thank alumni for their
generous support. Without alumni
contributions, a Columbia education would
be virtually unaffordable. We'll provide
the telephones and pizza and snacks to
keep you going. Be part of this annual
event!

5. Major Mentor Event
FRIDAY, Feb. 2
1 - 3pm: Lerner 555
Come speak with Sophomores and share your
Junior wisdom. Help them pick majors,
avoid certain professors, and get into the
best classes. If you are interested in
stopping by, getting food, and talking
with the Sophs, please email Dean Gaynor
ASAP at
[email protected].

6. No Dogears? No problem!
If you are disappointed that Dogears is
down indefinitely, don't worry. Books
on Campus (
www.booksoncampus.com)
lets you buy and sell textbooks online.
You can log in using your Facebook
account and buy or sell books on
Columbia's campus as well as other
college campuses using cash or credit
card. For complete details log into the
