1. The College Years ...

"I work with an extraordinary group of students on the Community
Impact Board. Late last year we tackled our organization's most
difficult problems in a big proposal to the Provost. Most of the
other five board members were seniors facing theses due dates and
final project deadlines as well as last minute job decisions,
considerations that would preclude most people from thinking of
anything else. Nevertheless, they had no qualms about gathering in
one of our rooms to edit and perfect our presentation over and over
again all night long for more than two weeks until it was time to
deliver it to the Provost. They did it because they cared about
our school and about the wider urban community we live in, and they
did it knowing that they would get absolutely no credit or
recognition of any kind. When someone asks me what Columbia is
like, I think of them."

3. SENIOR WEEK 2008

Are you interested in becoming a Senior Week 2008 Coordinator!

Senior Week is a collection of activities leading up to Commencement
in May. Each year, a committee of students get together to
fundraise, plan and execute events on campus and around NYC. This
week
not only celebrates the accomplishments and successes of the
graduating seniors, but most of all, it celebrates the friendships
made with each other. The members of the Senior Week Committee are
graduating seniors that work throughout their final year
coordinating this culminating week of activities to make this a fun
and memorable week for their fellow classmates.

Questions? Comments? Feel free to contact Leo Pedraza,
[email protected].

Please complete the application and return it to the Office of
Student
Development and Activities, 515 Lerner Hall no later than Monday,
September 24th, 2007 at 5 pm. Applicants will be notified the week
of
September 24th, 2007.
