Although it seems almost all of us
are Ahmadinejad-'ed out after the
events of this past week, I'd like
everyone to be aware that we are
here to always ready to take on
the support role for all students;
we want to ensure that as much of
this campus as possible remains a
safe space for all opinions and
beliefs. Therefore, please do not
hesitate to contact us if you have
any concerns with the event, the
campus atmosphere leading up to
and after the speech, how the
administration handled this, or
any follow-up programming our
council can do to address issues
regarding Ahmadinejad.
However, knowing that the world
does not revolve around
Ahmadinejad, we're also here if
you have concerns that are
unrelated and beyond what just
happened on Monday.
We're here not only to give you a
voice within the administration,
but also provide you the resources
and support you need in case
things aren't so great; Again, I
make my nostalgic point in that
this is our final year; make it
your best one if you can and we'll
do our best to do the same.
:-)
We got a long newsletter for you
today. With all that's been going
on this week, please do take a
look at the first item; it's
taking place tomorrow all over
campus and it's really important
that the Columbia community be
aware of the recent increase in
human rights violations in Burma.
