Welcome to Professor Breslow's labs! We are a physical-/bio-organic group interested in the design, synthesis, and study of new molecules with interesting properties. Currently, our major emphasis is in the preparation and investigation of molecules that imitate enzymes. This work includes the development of artificial enzymes and remote functionalization reactions. We are preparing and studying unnatural DNA analogs as well as developing a new group of cytodifferentiating agents with potential use in cancer chemotherapy . We are also involved in the synthesis of unusual new aromatic species and their study by physical organic methods.
