  Call for Scores 2006
The Columbia Music Scholarship Conference (CMSC) invites composition submissions from any person engaged in graduate music study. The selected works will be performed at a concert held in conjunction with CMSC's third annual conference, "Music Performance and Improvisation," to be held on February 3-4, 2006 at Columbia University.

The concert will take place on Friday evening, February 3 and feature members of Wet Ink, a New York-area new music group. We are seeking a range of performance submissions, from through-composed works and compositions with improvised components to works that are primarily improvisational.

Please adhere to the following guidelines for submitting compositions:
    • Wet Ink's core instrumentation includes: flute, two tenor saxophones (one doubling bass clarinet), electric guitar, piano, accordion, violin, cello, drum set (percussion) and live electronics. Submissions may include any combination of these instruments.
•Composers may augment this core instrumentation with one of the following: bass, trumpet, or trombone.
Composer/Improvisers are welcome to submit pieces that include themselves and to perform with Wet Ink.
    • Only one work per composer may be submitted.
    • Compositions should be no more than 15 minutes in duration.

All submissions must include the following materials:
              1. A cover letter including:
                                                          • title
                                                          • instrumentation (from the list above)

                                                          • The composer's contact information and institutional affiliation
              2. One copy of the notation/score (please omit composer's name).
