Research

Through research and communications, Asia-Pacific Development Society (APDS) seeks to provide the American public with an in-depth understanding of the dynamics of Asian affairs in the interest of peace and prosperity. It is host to independent views and analysis on East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Central Asia , over a wide range of topics including economy, society, environment, education, security, etc.

APDS supports initiatives that aim to produce robust and coherent findings on specific issues of developing countries in Asia . Some seek to fill gaps in the current knowledge base, while others collaborate across disciplines to provide well-rounded perspectives. We hope to translate the knowledge we gain from these research projects into informed actions. To that end, APDS supports several centers that disseminate APDS-funded research to the appropriate stakeholder audiences.
