Meetings

We have meetings every Thursday during the academic year from 7:30 PM until 9 PM. The location for our meetings this semester is 507 Hamilton Hall, on Columbia's Morningside Campus (Hamilton is located at 1130 Amsterdam Avenue. You may consult the map below; Hamilton is colored in dark blue). See our Facebook group for regular updates, or join our email list by emailing us at cubuddhistassociation@gmail.com.

All Columbia students and their guests are welcome to attend. It is not necessary to be Buddhist, or even spiritual. We find that the practice of meditation can be beneficial to all human beings, and we will gladly share our practice with all who are open to receive.

At each of our weekly meetings, we seek to invite a guest speaker from one of the schools or temples around the New York area. We welcome teachers from many different Buddhist traditions to come share their teachings with us. Typically, the teacher will give a Dharma talk, provide a guided meditation exercise, and answer questions from the students. Although our formal meeting concludes at 9:00, many students often choose to stay later in order to continue conversations with the teacher or form friendships with other students.
