We have meetings every Thursday during the academic year from 7:30pm until 9pm. Our meetings are located in the Guastavino Room in the basement of St. Paul's Chapel. (See below for a map to St. Paul's)
All Columbia students and their guests are welcome to attend. It is not necessary to be Buddhist, or even spiritual. We find that the practice of meditation can be beneficial to all human beings, and we will gladly share our practice with all who are open to receive.
At each of our weekly meetings, we seek to invite a guest speaker from one of the schools or temples around the New York area. We welcome teachers from many different Buddhist traditions to come share their teachings with us. Typically, the teacher will give a Dharma talk, provide a guided meditation exercise, and answer questions from the students. Although our formal meeting concludes at 9:00, many students often choose to stay later in order to continue conversations with the teacher or form friendships with other students.
