Meet Our Board

Camila Vicioso

Artistic Director

Camila Vicioso grew up in NYC and trained at the School of American Ballet. She also attended summer intensives including Boston Ballet, Miami City Ballet, and Chautauqua Dance. Between high school and college, she took a gap year to dance with Connecticut Ballet. She is now a junior at Columbia College and is majoring in Psychology with a concentration in Dance on a pre-med path. Camila has been a dancer with CUBE since her first semester at Columbia and has served as Assistant Artistic Director, PR Director, and a repetiteur. She is thrilled to be the Artistic Director of CUBE.

Jenna Everard

Executive Director

Jenna Everard is a junior at Barnard College studying Environmental Biology and Computer Science. She grew up in Kirkland, Washington where she trained in ballet, contemporary, jazz, and tap for 13 years. In college, Jenna dances with CUBE and Orchesis, plays and performs classical piano, and writes for the Columbia Science Review. She is thrilled to be serving as the Executive Director of CUBE!

Li Bing Appel

PR Director

Li Bing Appel is a sophomore at Barnard College. She began her ballet training at age four at Chrystie Street Ballet Academy in New York City. Li Bing then attended Ballet Tech, the New York City Public School for Dance. She has performed with Rioult Dance at the Joyce Theater. Li Bing joined CUBE in her first semester at Barnard and is delighted to be CUBE’s PR Director. 

Naomi Namboodiripad

Assistant Artistic Director

Naomi Namboodiripad is a current sophomore at Columbia College planning to study film and economics. She has been training in ballet along with Indian classical dance styles since the age of four. She grew up in Yardley, PA and received most of her training from Princeton Ballet School and the Martin Center for the Arts. Naomi joined CUBE last year and is excited to continue to work with our dancers for the coming production!

Elena Stites

Assistant Executive Director

Elena Stites is a sophomore at Barnard College. She began her ballet training in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and for the last two year of high school Elena was a company member in pre-professional ballet company with Ashley Ballet Arts Academy. She has also trained with various companies such as The Joffrey Ballet School through summer programming. Elena is planning to study Environment and Sustainability, and is very excited to be apart of the CUBE board this year!

Kate Shavelle

Assistant PR Director

Kate Shavelle is a sophomore in Columbia College majoring in astrophysics and art history. A California native, Kate has been studying classical ballet for over ten years, attending training programs at San Francisco Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and English National Ballet. Kate has performed principal roles in productions across the Los Angeles area with South Bay Ballet of Torrance and Marat Daukayev Ballet Theater. Kate is also an ambassador for Brown Girls Do Ballet, a national initiative to encourage brown and black peoples to pursue classical ballet. Kate is thrilled to be a part of the CUBE board this term.

Gloria Lu

Costumer

Gloria Lu is a current first year student at Barnard. She has been a ballet dancer since the age of three years old. Her favorite ballet is Don Quixote. She also loves watching movies and shopping! Gloria started her experience with CUBE her first semester at Barnard. CUBE is a great family to her and she is looking forward to the performances next year.

Haley Chung

Costumer

Haley is a junior studying Human Rights and Film Studies from Vancouver, Canada. She only started dancing during winter break of sophomore year — unless you count her role as a snowflake in a performance of Wizard of Oz in 2006. On campus, Haley is involved with the greek life, Ski Team, and the Undergraduate Recruitment Committee. She is so excited to be involved with CUBE and continue her ballet journey!

Madeline Angelides

Repetiteur

Madeline is a sophomore at Barnard College planning on being an Economics-Statistics major. She grew up in Philadelphia, PA, and did most of her ballet training at the Rock School for Dance Education. Madeline had previously trained at the School of the Pennsylvania Ballet, and has attended summer intensives at Kaatsbaan and the Bolshoi Ballet Academy. 

Alexis Ishmael

Repetiteur

Alexis Ishmael is a sophomore at Barnard College studying Economics and Anthropology. She began her dance training at age four, taking ballet and tap dance classes. She has since received pre-professional training and experience in jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and choreographic composition. Alexis has had training academic year and summer intensive at both Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Ruth Page Center for the Arts. She had the pleasure of performing with Hubbard Street’s Youth Ensemble and Choreo Lab throughout middle and high school. Alexis joined CUBE second semester of her freshman year and is incredibly excited to get to work with CUBE’s amazing dancers as a rep!

Elizabeth Jones

Repetiteur

Elizabeth Jones is a sophomore at Columbia College. Growing up in Princeton, NJ, she trained at Princeton Ballet School through the pre-professional division. There she performed in school productions and with American Repertory Ballet for 8 seasons (and 10 roles!) of Nutcracker. Elizabeth has attended summer intensives at Kaatsbaan, Colorado Ballet, and Princeton Ballet. She enjoys playing and listening to jazz and watching ballet, film, and musical theatre. She joined CUBE her second semester of her freshman year and is very excited to join the board and continue being a part of CUBE! 

Marcus Tian

Repetiteur

Marcus Tian, currently a sophomore at Columbia College, is majoring in Dance and Neuroscience & Behavior as a pre-med student. Growing up, Marcus moved from Denver to NYC and settled in Chicago where he later began his training at Hubbard Street Dance Center and Hyde Park School of Dance at the age of 15. Since then, he has had the opportunity to attend summer intensives at Orlando Ballet School, New York City Dance Project, and at his home studios to continue learning various ballet and modern techniques. He is looking forward to his second semester with CUBE and working with its board for the next production!
