The Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation
computing facilities are integrated as a resource for both Urban
Design studio and required coursework. These include Macintosh and
Silicon Graphics workstations and related hardware within the Urban
Design Studio; and additional general use MacIntosh workstations
within the Computer Lab. In addition video-capture stations for both
MacIntosh and Silicon Graphics are available, together with a
multi-media theatre for presentations. It is expected that all
students will be fluent in Form Z/Renderzone for MacIntosh by the end
of the Summer Semester; and Softimage for Silicon Graphics by the end
of the Fall Semester. Tutorials are provided in addition to normal
course instruction. An Urban Design Website is under development
which will include student projects as well as other material related
to the curriculum.
