"Living is fighting"

This is not a cardio kickboxing class! We will be learning to apply kickboxing and self defense techniques in actual sparring situations. Class will meet twice a week. Keep checking the website for times and locations.

The Columbia University Kickboxing Club was founded in 2002 by Tigran Mikaelyan a student of the School of General Studies CU, who was its first President and assistant instructor. It first started classes in October of 2002. In the process of its establishment as a permanent club sport at CU the club greatly benefited from Michael Koeckert, a student of the School of Engineering and Applied Science CU, who became the first Vice-President and the Webmaster.
CUKC provides an opportunity for those with or without previous experience in any martial arts style to study and practice the art of Kickboxing. The class is not a kardiokickboxing workout and its purpose is to teach students basic punching and kicking techniques and focus on their application during pair work and contact sparring sessions.
