Pseudopatrons

PLACING RECALLS OR HOLDS ON ITEMS NEEDED FOR RESERVES

  1. PURPOSE

    Placing holds or recalls on items needed for reserves

  2. CAUTION

    Do not use the reserves pseudopatron to charge items to reserves.

  3. PROCEDURES

    1. Identify an item needed for reserves.

    2. Determine whether a recall, hold, or rush recall is needed to retrieve the item from the patron to whom it is charged.

    3. Using the RESERVES pseudopatron, follow CLIO Manual procedures for placing a recall, hold, or rush recall as appropriate.

    4. When the item that is needed for reserves is returned to your library:

      1. Follow CLIO Manual procedures for cancelling a recall or hold when the item has already been discharged.

      2. Follow DCMM procedures for placing an item in a reserves temporary location.
