PROCEDURES
Determine whether the patron has acknowledged that the item
is lost.
If the patron has acknowledged that the item is lost:
Follow CLIO Manual Procedures for adding notes to patron
accounting records.
Input a note like this: Patron confirmed that item is
lost; item checked-out to known lost on xx/xx/xx.
Check-in the item.
If any holds exist, follow CLIO Manual procedures for
cancelling a hold when the item is already checked-in.
Check-out the item to KNOWN LOST.
If the patron has not acknowledged that the item is lost:
Follow CLIO Manual Procedures for adding notes to patron
accounting records.
Input a note like this: Patron did not respond to overdue
notices; item checked-out to known lost on xx/xx/xx.
If any holds exist, follow CLIO Manual procedures for
cancelling a hold when the item is not yet checked-in.
