Lost and Missing

USING THE NRTN/NOT FOUND SELECTOR LIST

  1. BACKGROUND

    1. The NRTN/Not Found Selector List contains items with the NRTN condition set for 180-269 days. This list allows bibliographers and selectors to select items that should be replaced. The list is produced quarterly. It is not cumulative.

    2. After 90 days, the list in a sense "expires." Items that have not been acted on will automatically appear on the next NRTN/Not Found Withdraw List and the withdrawal process will begin. Selectors and bibliographers may continue to work on this list after it has "expired."

  2. PROCEDURES

    1. Bibliographers and selectors should review this list and decide whether each item should be replaced or withdrawn.

      1. Use the list in conjunction with CLIO and/or the shelflist, as needed for information about multiple copies.

      2. It should not be necessary to search the shelf for items in this list since items will have been searched when they appeared on the NRTN/Not Found Search List.

    2. Catalog/Collection maintenance staff should follow the DCMM procedures for replacing or withdrawing items, as appropriate.
