Lost and Missing

USING THE NRTN/NOT FOUND WITHDRAW LIST

  1. BACKGROUND

    1. The NRTN/Not Found Withdraw List contains items with the NRTN condition set for 270-359 days. The list is issued quarterly (following the NRTN/Not Found Selector List by three months). The list is not cumulative.

    2. The list includes all items that have already "aged" on the NRTN/Not Found Selector List for 90 days, during which time selectors and bibliographers had the opportunity to designate items for replacement. Therefore, all items on this list are assumed to be designated for withdrawal from the collection.

  2. PROCEDURES

Follow the DCMM procedures for withdrawing items. Because the list is non-cumulative and quarterly, an effort should be made to withdraw items within 90 days after the list is issued in order to keep CLIO records up to date. Since the list is not cumulative, if it is not possible to withdraw the items within 90 days after the list is issued, retain the list for future use.
