Action List
February 5, 2001

Ted Bosley:

1.  Project Greene and Greene projects (jobs) naming convention; divide list into ¼ and send one each to Lowell, Scheid, Parks, and Bosley.
2.  Send USC imaging standards (if they exist) to Nelb.
3.  Decide database management software for G & G Archives and decorative arts.
4.  Send potential date format to Nelb (circa, date spans, etc.) by March 1, 2001.
5.  Send Virtual Archives product ideas to Nelb by March 1, 2001.
6.  Send book on disc to Lowell, Parks, Scheid for use in project write-ups.
7.  Talk to Wayne Shoaf about USC licensing.
8.  Obtain URLs for USC images.
9.  Register domain name “Greene and Greene” for web site.
10.  Check to see if USC already has a Mr. SID users license.
11.  Ask Robin Chandler if CDL will support virtual archives “pretty view”, not just inventories.
12.  Set up internal project management web site.
13.  Make image choices at Berkeley, Huntington, Avery.
14.  Develop naming convention for decorative arts materials (check with Rick Reinhart for standards).
15.  Send Moving Theory into Practice to Lowell, Scheid, Parks.
16.  Start to assemble biographical and other Greene and Greene front piece information for web site.
17.  Confer with Scheid re:  cataloguer position.
18.  Revise client name authorities from Avery list when necessary and send to all.
19.  Interview Project Manager prospect in LA with Scheid.
20. Do test with database by inputting a variety of decorative arts records.  Send to Alvin.

Parks et al:

1.  Decide imaging vendor.
2.  Decide database management software.
3.  Send Virtual Archives product ideas to Nelb by March 1, 2001.
4.  Prepare ¼ of project write up after receipt from Bosley.
5.  Send client name authorities to Bosley.
6.  Check on Mr. SID license at Columbia.
7.  Import subjects for use in added entries authority.  Send to all.
8. Send potential date format to Nelb (circa, date spans, etc.) by March 1, 2001.
9.  Do new cataloging on photos and archival items.
10.  Send Aviador Manual to Lowell, Bosley, Scheid.
11.  Scan images using OAC and Columbia imaging standards.
12.  Send images to Ted for selection.
13.  Sent CLIO URl to all participants for access to MARC VM records.
14.  Send budget and other financial info to Judy Benda at Gamble House.
15.  Send copyright letter to Greenes.  Make sure receive signed permission before images go up on web site.
16.  Do test with database by inputting a variety of records.  Send to Alvin.
 

Waverly Lowell:

1.  Hire project manager.
2. Send potential date format to Nelb (circa, date spans, etc.) by March 1, 2001.
3.  Send Virtual Archives product ideas to Nelb by March 1, 2001.
4.  Send Descriptive Metadata elements with examples as discussed 1/31/01 to all participants (check with Nelb if need list).
5.  Send budget and other financial info to Judy Benda at Gamble House.
6.  Prepare ¼ of project write up after receipt from Bosley.
7.  Get lap top for Project Manager.
8.  Send Project Manager to School for Scanning and EAD workshop.
9.  Follow up on copyright letter to Greenes—Make sure receive signed permission before images go up on web site.
 
Rick Reinhart:

1.  Send MOAC Standards to all participants. (This was done last week).
2.  Send Virtual Archives product ideas to Nelb by March 1, 2001.
 

Anne Scheid:


1.  Hire cataloguer.
2.  Interview Project Manager prospect in LA with Bosley.
3.  Send Virtual Archives product ideas to Nelb by March 1, 2001.
4.  Review G & G Archives Collection arrangement with Nelb by March 1, 2001.
5.  Prepare ¼ of project write up after receipt from Bosley.
6.  Do test with database by inputting a variety of records.  Send to Alvin.
7.  Participate in EAD training.
8. Send potential date format to Nelb (circa, date spans, etc.) by March 1, 2001.
 

Alvin Pollock
1.  Put together derivative mock-up with different sizes and image types.
2.  Send Virtual Archives product ideas to Nelb by March 1, 2001.
3.  Provide targeted information for Access database.
 

Merrilee Proffitt:

1.  Send Virtual Archives product ideas to Nelb by March 1, 2001.
2.  Send MOA II DTD (This was done on 2/1/01).
3.  Obtain 13” and 6” cm/inch scale plus grey scale plus color bar from Dan.   Send to Parks and Scheid.
 

Tawny Ryan Nelb
:

1.  Send budget and other financial info to Judy Benda at Gamble House.
2.  Discuss G & G Archives Collection arrangement with Scheid.
3.  Send EAD training information to Bosley.
4.  Determine Getty point person for AAT; send to participants.
5. Check with Robin Chandler about completion of database management manual.
6.  Get photo scale place standard from SPNHC.  Send to participants.
7.  Assemble list of product ideas from all participants.  Collate and send to
all participants.
8.  Send new contact list with up-date for Steve and Robbie.
9.  Collate date format information from participants and send to all participants.
