Description: The Greene & Greene Virtual Archives (GGVA) is a collaborative two-year project funded by the Getty Grant Program that seeks to bring together electronically reproductions of material relating to the early 20th-century American architects Henry Mather and Charles Sumner Greene. This virtual Web-based archive will make broadly available a selection of Greene & Greene's architectural drawings, project photographs and other related papers to architects, researchers and the general public. The original collections are held by the four institutions collaborating in the project: The Gamble House and Greene & Greene Archives at the University of Southern California, the University of California, Berkeley; the Huntington Library (San Marino, CA), and Columbia University. Columbia will contribute digitized copies of ca. 4,000 architectural drawings and photographs from the extensive archival collections of the Avery Architectural and Fine Arts Library.
