Checklist for Serial Adding

  • Serial must be in CU processing unit.

  • Record must be in SERIALS format.

  • Record must have cataloged location with call number.

  • Location must match. If location does not match, consult supervisor.

  • T2 does not indicate that item is a special issue requiring monographic treatment.

  • CHLD does not have notation codes indicating that the title is analyzed, i.e., a:all, a:par, a:bw, a, p, ass, sub, sub:ua, sub:a

  • If notation code coff or coff and sep appear in CHLD, item in hand has a volume number lower than the last volume added to MHLD.

    If all conditions above are met, route item to SAS to be added. In cases of doubt, consult a supervisor.
