18—Metropolis, 111., Opera House burned.

19—Mrs. Flora May Nolf divorced from Frank P. Nolf
(Nelden) at Williamsport, Pa.

20—George H. Huber and Minnie Schult married in this

city......."Chic" first produced at Stamford, Ct.   In

the leading role Adelaide Goundri made her profes¬
sional debut..... "Old Maids from Ala.ska," by Ella

22—"Job's Lass," by Edwin A. Kerr, acted for the first
time under that name at Price's Theatre, Atchison,
Kas. As "The Collier's Daughter" it was originally
acted in Pennsylvania four years ago.

24—"The Coral Bracelet," an adaptation from the French,
acted for the first time in America at the Bush Street

Theatre, San Francisco, Cal......"The Tempest," by

John Kemble, originally acted at McVicker's Theatre,

Chicago, 111....."Lost and Won," by Wilson Day,

originally acted at the Academy of Music, Chicago,

HI......Schnaider's Summer Theatre, St. Louis, Mo.,

dedicated ___The Swintien Lo Royal Chinese The¬
atre Co. began a two weeks' engagement at the Wind¬
sor Theatre in "She Long Tau Moo" ("The Royal
Slave"). This was the second Chinese company that
ever appeared in a regular theatre in this city, the
first being at the Old Broadway Theatre in 185.3.

5—"Booties' Baby," Hugh Moss' dramatization of "John
Strange Winter's" (Mrs. Arthur Stannard) novel, act¬
ed for the first time in this country at the Madison
Square Theatre. It was originally produced at the
London, Eng., Globe, May 8, 1888. A second version
of it, by Frank H. Gassaway, was first acted at Bush

Street Theatre, San Francisco, Cal., Oct. 21......"The

Lion and the Lamb." by Will R. Wilson and Juliu.-s A.
Lewis, originally acted at the Bijou Theatre......Liz¬
zie Collins and the Sisters Graham made American
debuts at Long Branch, N. J.; their New York debuts

occurred Oct. 21, at Tony Pastor's......George Smith

and Louise Mettles married at Iron Mountain, Mich.
7—"Fine Feathers" originally acted at the Manasquan,
N. J., Opera House, dedicating that house. It was
also the first dramatic performance ever given in that
town. "Fine Feathers" was seen for the first time in
New York at the Windsor Theatre, Aug. 30.
9—"La Belle Marie," by "Henry Preston" (Hal Reid>»
originally acted at the Nelida Theatre, Catskills, N. Y.
First in New York City, 12, at the Windsor Theatre.

lyn, N. Y.

10—John J. Brace (J. P. Bradshaw) and Bertha Waring
(Bertha Rausch) married at San Francisco, Cal.
