Q:

How did you and your partner divide up the work?

Cerf:

I was going to take care of the editorial side and advertising, publicity, and promotion; Klopfer was going to run the office and supervise production; he was going to run the inside. We were going to divide the selling, because Don was a very good salesman, too, and everybody has always loved Don. He's one of the nicest men that ever lived. In all these years when the business was growing and growing, Donald was always the one that anybody who was in trouble came to. I'd be too impatient.

Q:

You complemented one another.

Cerf:

Completely.

Q:

How about the financial aspects? Did you handle that or did you both?

Cerf:

Well, there weren't any problems. The money began pouring in right away. The first objective was to give my uncle his 500 shares back as fast as we could. We wanted to get that off our chest. As I say, we gave him 100 back at a time.

Q:

Did you each take a salary?

Cerf:

Yes, we took a salary.
