Okay. Well, one other thing-- Miriam Hopkins I see you were engaged to.
I was never engaged to her. That's just newspaper gossip. But I had a girl all the time I was in college who now lives in Louisville, Kentucky. I told you about the night club, when we were at the dock in a canoe, and the boy who danced at the night club who is now Senator George Murphy.
Well, after her there was the girl whom Don, my partner, and I loved simultaneously. Then I began meeting the honest-to-goodness glamour girls. I told you about Miriam sailing into the office and how I took her to the football game the next day. We became very great friends.
Do you want to go into your first marriage at all?
Well, just to pass over that quickly. The Sylvia story-- that's quite an episode in my life.
A short but important one.
One night I took a girl to see a show called “Bad Girl,” by Viña Delmar. It had been taken from her novel of the same name--an enormous best seller. Well, the girl who was playing
