Koch:

You'd get them from his headquarters. When I say handed out in large numbers -- that was not true -- but I handed it out in small numbers. All you have to do is walk up to his headquarters and they would hand out to anybody who would come in on election day literature. So in small numbers.

Q:

So you personally didn't pick it up then?

Koch:

Oh, no, I wouldn't go to his headquarters. But I took delight in handing that out.

Now, I win. Six months or so after I am in the Congress I am visited by two EBI guys, and they say, “We're here because Mike Seymour is being considered for a federal position appointment.” And I had heard that -- for U.S. attorney in the southern district here in Manhattan. “And we'd like to talk to you about him.” So I said, “Well, gentlemen, I don't know why you want to talk to me about him. After all, we were adversaries. We ran against one another.” And they said, “Well, that's why we would like to talk to you, to get an insight.” I said. “Okay, come on in.” This was in my Washington office.

They said, “Tell us about him.” And I said, “Well, he's a man who has an impeccable character, a very decent gentleman. He came to my headquarters the night that we won. It was a marvelous thing that he did. He came in and made a speech and
