Lasker:

It's funny looking, isn't it?

Q:

It's taken from above, some odd angle.

Lasker:

Yes, looking down, everybody is --

Q:

-- elongated, El Greco - like.

Lasker:

Everybody's foreshortened in a funny way, aren't they? Very odd looking. I'm glad you have it.

Then the Kennedy Center had a special program in which Mr. Stevenson was much too flattering, but at least he did recognize me.

Q:

When was this?

Lasker:

At the opening.” The dedication of former? foreign trustees can best be exemplified by the generosity and virtually unlimited help of Mrs. Albert D. Lasker.” Well, this is very sweet, but all it means is that I did do something.

Q:

You mean you did something in a monetary sense, other ways as well?

Lasker:

Yes, I also worked on the whole project over, let's see, about eight years.

Q:

One has only to review the text of the Oral History to know this. But you did something considerable in a monetary way too.

Lasker:

Yes, I did.

Q:

Would you be willing tohazard how much you contributed in toto?
