and from New York, and it was extremely social and pleasant.

Q:

You say it was the opening of a new resort, at Manzanillo?

Lasker:

Yes. Called Las Hades. Dr. Denton Cooley was there and Dr. Rosenfeld and several other important doctors from other countries, and Mr. and Mrs. Vander Kamp who are great friends of mine. Then I went to visit for a weekend with Mrs. Johnson in Acapulco. So I've been in Mexico twice. And then Mrs. Johnson just visited me at my farm in Dutchess County this weekend.

Q:

That's really an understatement, you know, your “farm.”

Lasker:

Well, you can see the corn growing from my terrace. It's a farm. I've got lots more corn growing on the hill. And lots of birds -- and two new swans, white swans, yes. I'm very pleased about that.

One of the most unusual visitors that we had this spring was Mr. and Mrs. Morita. He's the head of Sony, my favorite maker of radios and sound equipment. Both he and she were charming and you could easily see why he's such a great success in business.

Q:

They visited you --?

Lasker:

Here.

Q:

At the house.

Lasker:

I'd made, for me, a great deal of money in the Sony stock, and fortunately I'd gotten out of it. I got out of it about a year ago, all but a thousand shares, and I must say I was lucky to have got out.
