We are Orisha Pan African Dance!

Orisha is a pan-African dance troupe at Columbia University, which blends dances and music of pan-African influence. By performing dances to music from West Africa, South America, the Caribbean, and the Middle East, Orisha demonstrates that people from Africa and the African diaspora are "dancing to the same beat." In its first semester, Orisha blended West African dances, Salsa, Capoeira, and West African and bhangra beats to create a fusion of movement through dance that outlines the diversity of its members and anticipates the growing unity of global influence in the world. Orisha does not require any prior dancing experience, though it is encouraged. Orisha requires dedication, participation, and quick learning skills to adapt to new dance styles while incorporating your own personality and flare.
