Calendar of Exhibitions — Fall 2006
Summer Photography Show
September 15 2006
Everyone is an artist and photography provides the perfect venue for artistic expression. Through photographs, Postcrypt's first show of the fall semester will celebrate the diversity of our summer experiences, ranging from the streets of New York to exotic tropical paradises. By sharing our photos, we hope to create a visual narrative of the university beyond the confines of the campus.

Exhibition
October 6 2006
What does it mean to be an artist and to put oneself on display; physically or through art objects? We constantly make decisions about how we want to present ourselves to the world, and interact with venues of "exhibition." How do these decisions and spaces impact our identities and the ways in which people respond to us? Everyone is an exhibitionist in one way or another (except for, perhaps, those Hikikomori). And finally, is it destructive to think this way?

Destruction, Deconstruction, et. al
November 10 2006
Annihilation, breakage, corrosion, damage, decimation, demolishment, demolition, dereliction, desolation, detritus, devastation, dirt, dismemberment, erosion, extermination, filth, grime, implosion, muck, obliteration, refuse, ruination, wastage, wreckage...
In the end though, aren't all these things rather beautiful? Show us.

Masculinity
December 1 2006
Weilding power but not necessarily empowered.
Having the courage to cry.
Rational, thoughtful and effective.
Gentle but well armed.
Crude, arrogant and stupid.
Violent out of sheer terror.
Well endowed.
We are looking for personal work in which an artist explores his or her own masculinity and his or her experience and relationship with masculinity.
