Voter Registration Deadline - October 13

On November 7, you will have the opportunity to cast your vote for the President of the United States, Senators, congressional representatives and other state officials.

Make sure you are able to participate by registering to vote. New York voter registration forms are available in 301 Low Library. You can also register on-line through one of the web sites listed below. In New York, the last day to register to vote in the presidential election is October 13.

If you are not a resident of New York State, you can register in your home state via these web sites as well.

  • http://www.naicu.edu/ - The National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities web site includes a link to "Election.com" where you can register to vote or request an absentee ballot.
  • http://www.vote-smart.org/ - The Project Vote Smart web site includes a mechanism to find out who your representatives are and some information about them.
  • http://www.beavoter.org/ - Be A Voter was specifically created to allow people to register to vote on-line in any state.
  • http://www.columbia.edu/cu/fedrel/ - Columbia's Office of Government Relations has information about federal policies that affect Columbia students, faculty and employees. It also includes links to federal agencies and legislative resources.
